Why Use Adobe?

7 Lessons

Adobe Illustrator is my favorite program for creating wedding invitations. It’s easy to layout text, build shapes, and incorporate graphic elements. I love that you can move all the artboards (pages) around and see the entire picture of your design!

Do I need an Adobe Creative Cloud subscription? +

While you’re welcome to watch the class before you get your subscription, all of the lessons are taught in Adobe! If you don’t have a subscription yet, use our link (we will make a small commission - thank you!).

Is this for beginners? +

Yes! Many long-time users have learned a lot as well - these tools are often complex! But they are designed and broken down as if there is no prior knowledge.

Why do you use Illustrator when you're designing? +

I’ll talk a little about this in the first video, but Adobe Illustrator is my favorite program for creating wedding invitations. It’s easy to layout text, build shapes, and incorporate graphic elements. I love that you can move all the artboards (pages) around and see the entire picture of your design! Photoshop is great for editing raster graphics (like photos and watercolors!) and InDesign is great for editing longer documents with multiple pages (like formatting envelope addressing).

Why do you teach in Adobe and not Canva or Procreate? +

Canva and Procreate are wonderful programs for what they are designed to do - but neither is designed to be a professional design program for print design. You’ll find it’s really hard to print from Canva or Procreate, mostly due to the elements being in RGB color space and raster, not vector. If these terms don’t mean much to you - take this class and they will! I want you to be a professional designer, not just an everyday hobbyist, and for that you need the right programs.
